Resolute, Redux
I’m never perfect at keeping to my resolutions. This does not, however keep me from making them. I’m not sure exactly why, but maybe it’s a bit of optimism. I can always change for the better. It’s a good time to take stock and see where things need to be tweaked.
I know a lot of it is the same every year, but that’s alright. I have kept up with a bit of it - I have written more, and quit drinking, at least for a year, and I’ve met more people. 3 out of 5 isn’t too horrible. I suppose keeping the list short helps.
This year my resolutions include:
1. Be healthy: mentally and physically. Get more exercise, eat right (which might include cutting out dairy. Arg.), cook more, keep up with the sobriety, keep up with AA.
2. Write more: journalling, stories, gaming. I need to keep in practice. Part of this includes submitting at least one story somewhere before the end of 2005.
3. Work to find a community: Writing community? AA? Religious? I’m not sure yet. I have a whole year to figure it out.
4. Learn more about what’s going on in the world, politically. I tend to get most of my news from the Daily Show, which is a step on the right direction in that it’s called ‘News’. However, I understand that it is *comedy* and I need more information. It’s time I started paying closer attention, even if a lot of what’s going on out there makes me nutty.
Let’s see if I can pull off all 4 in 2005.
